As of today, I officially declare that DizSpeed and
Round Fluff have become fans of Chaemes United.
ã„´ DizSpeed looks
fucking annoyed lmaooooo
ã„´ Round Fluff just looks bewildered lolol
So cute lolol
ã„´ Why does it suit them so well lolol
ã„´
Did ChaengguPrincess even give you kids’ sizes?
ã„´ WildGrills) Ye ye,
it felt awkward for me to wear them so I just tried putting them on. If they
hate it, I'll take them off.
ã„´ Ahhh. The whole world is
Chae-u....
ã„´ StarlightPrincess) Should I try raising an owlbear too?
He’s so cute...!
ã„´ WildGrills) Just feed them well, and they’re
really adorable.
ã„´ StarlightPrincess) I'd like to raise one and name
it Hellin.
ã„´ WildGrills) Master?
“Kukukuk.”
Kaelin,
Princess of Mephisto, let out a satisfied laugh while looking at the post Grills
had uploaded.
She was someone who usually maintained a domineering
attitude, but that was only in her daily life.
In the gallery, where
all emotions could be freely expressed, she wasn’t so different from anyone
else.
“They really are cute. Look at those chubby bodies.”
Even
she couldn’t resist cuteness. In truth, almost no one badmouths Round Fluff.
Badmouth
Round Fluff? Then you'd better be prepared to receive every curse imaginable.
So
much so that some users even clamored for Grills to post more photos of Round
Fluff instead of himself.
"This way, he won't need to worry about
clothes for a while.'
There's no particular reason why she gave
Grills the uniforms.
She had uniforms in abundance, enough to trip
over, and she was personally interested in Grills.
Living as a
princess, she was someone who had received all sorts of flattery.
She
could easily discern whether words were true or false.
‘It’s been a
while since someone made me feel sincerity through mere words.’
There
were many reasons why Kaelin had grown fond of Grills.
First, there
was the fact that he genuinely cheered for Chae-U, the team she supports, and
his attitude of trying to somehow repay her kindness was impressive.
Especially
when she told him no repayment was needed, he fidgeted like a restless puppy.
Each
of these words and actions came across as good impressions to Kaelin.
Even
in the anonymity of the gallery, Grills was polite and well-mannered.
'Is
it because he would be in danger if he didn't gain favor?'
Maybe.
Once
he escaped the Forest of Four Seasons, he might just shut his mouth and ignore
her.
But that didn’t matter. At least while in the Forest of Four
Seasons, he remained a good person.
‘But it’s strange. Is he really
from another world?’
Regardless, she couldn’t help but be interested
in Grills.
Grills had once said he came from another world. At the
time, she had dismissed it as him just role playing.
Kaelin had
believed it was just a persona. Moreover, Grills possessed knowledge about
sports.
That made her think it was part of his act, but the proposal
he brought up was truly surprising.
"Not clubs established following
their home base, but tournaments based on territory of origin. And once every
four years?"
The tournament Grills had mentioned, the World Cup. This
part bothered Kaelin.
He had explained it as if that tournament
really existed. She couldn't help but pay attention.
"The pride of
representing one’s territory. The honor gained by defeating those
representatives. The rarity of holding it once every four years. Just hearing
about it, these are attractive cards.'
Once, Mephisto had pushed for
a similar tournament.
Why not form representatives from each race and
host a world-class sports event?
It received significant support but
fell through for various reasons.
Not only were there differences
between races, but the pressure was too intense.
The competition was
beyond intense, it was murderous, and even if you overcame that competition, you
couldn't help but be entangled in politics.
It was truly an honor no
different from a poisoned chalice. That's why it fizzled out and disappeared.
'It
could gain great response from humans too.'
Humans have an infinitely
low floor, but their ceiling is high enough to pierce the sky.
This
applies to sports as well, and currently numerous humans were competing as
athletes.
Even in Mephisto, human players who transferred in were
often showing outstanding performances.
However, due to aging from
their short lifespans, their prime is relatively short. This is inevitable.
Instead,
with just that short impact alone, they swept away every award there was, and
the demons' pride was broken day by day.
Recently, hadn't they
suffered defeat in a tournament where clubs from each nation faced off against
each other?
If the Demon Race and Elves go long and thin, humans go
short and thick.
“Did he really come from another world?”
She
dismissed it as nonsense at first, but there are more than one or two suspicious
parts.
The fact that he can use the gallery in the Forest of Chaos
and his various knowledge are all examples.
'Even if that were true,
it doesn't change that he's a Chae-U fan.'
Suspicions led to more
suspicions, but Kaelin quickly gave up.
She wanted to have a more
in-depth conversation with Grills, but his survival was more important.
It
would be heartbreaking to see even one Chae- U fan die so meaninglessly.
'I
wish Medes Family knew about Grills too.'
How great would it be if
Medes Family fully supported Grills.
That would significantly
increase his survival chances and generate significant advertising revenue.
But
Medes Family cared only about making money and would never pay attention to
someone like Grills.
'I'd like to pressure them a bit, but... that
damn politics.'
Kaelin shook her head.
Sports including
football were infinitely light for those who enjoyed them.
But the
deeper you dug into the inside, the more complex and dirty it became.
That’s
why Kaelin chose to enjoy it rather than delve too deeply.
Even with
that mindset, her anger would soar when she watched a Chae-U’s match, but this
was a story that applied to everyone.
Getting angry because the club
you support plays like shit was universal across all nations and races.
'Please,
just don't lose helplessly. Or at least score one goal.'
Kaelin
thought about the upcoming match. The opponent was the detestable Leor.
The
difference in strength between Leore, who had risen to become a powerhouse, and
Chae-U, who was declining, was stark.
But football always carried
unpredictability, so she held onto a shred of hope.
'I should say I'm
entering mental cultivation two days from now.'
There's one good
thing about being absorbed in sports. You don't need to do separate mental
cultivation.
Sports viewing is mental cultivation itself, so why is
it necessary? Kaelin thought this way as she moved her steps.
"Hm?"
"Ah."
She
ran right into someone while walking down the hallway.
The
characteristic blue skin and reverse pupils of demons. Horns growing from the
head.
And finally, looks that were second to none in being called
handsome.
“I offer my greetings, Father.”
Kaelin gave a
polite greeting filled with proper etiquette.
The being infamous
throughout the land as the Demon King, Asmodeus.
He is Kaelin's
biological father and reigns as the king of Mephisto.
"Yes. Kaelin.
Is there nothing unusual?"
"Would anything be the matter with me?
Every day is the same routine.”
“I see. And where are you headed?”
"I
was planning to make preparations for mental cultivation that will take place in
two days."
I'm going to watch the Chae-Umatch in two days. This was
Kaelin's inner thoughts.
Asmodeus nodded and spoke in a stiff
tone.
"It seems your days of mental cultivation have become quite
frequent recently. Is there something weighing on your mind?"
"Compared
to Father who bears responsibility for Mephisto's decisions day by day, my
worries are infinitely trivial."
Chae-U plays fucking shitty. think
I'm going to die of cancer from it.
Kaelin screamed again in her
head.
Asmodeus nodded at her words and offered comfort.
"Do
not push yourself too hard. Before you are a princess, you are my daughter. If
you ever need help, just say so.”
“Even just your words are a
blessing. However…”
Kaelin gazed intently at Asmodeus's face.
His
face had relaxed considerably, as if things were going well recently.
In
the old days, he wore a stiff expression every single day; she remembered how
scary it was.
And just like Kaelin now, he had been busy with daily
mental cultivation.
"Have you achieved enlightenment, Father? It
seems like your days of mental cultivation have lessened."
"That's
right. Both with Mephisto and with only good things happening, my mind has
become at ease."
"I see."
I'm jealous. I'm so jealous.
While
one person rots inside day by day, another attains enlightenment.
Yet
she did not feel it was unfair. The blame belonged to Kaelin herself.
'Being
a Chae-U fan is my sin.'
She had absolutely no intention of taking
out her frustration on anyone.
"Then I hope you achieve great
growth."
“Thank you, Father. What will you be doing, if I may
ask?”
"I too have training in two days. It might be the most
important training of all."
"I'm sure you will achieve excellent
results, Father."
"I appreciate your well-wishes. I shall take my
leave now."
Asmodeus patted Kaelin's shoulder a few times and walked
past her.
Kaelin watched his back before walking away as well.
“If
they lose again this time…”
The thought alone was dreadful. The
gallery would surely erupt with ridicule.
But what weighed on her
most was Grills. Wouldn't he be disappointed watching Chae-U's terrible
performance?
She could picture other fixed nicks, especially
KingLeore, gently tempting him upon learning of that disappointment.
ã„´
KingLeore) Sir, why not support our Leor instead of such a team? I’ll even give
you a uniform.
ã„´ WildGrills) Thank you. To be honest, I've been a
Leore fan for a long time.
ã„´ King Leoor) Now. Shout it out. What
about Chae-U?
ã„´ WildGrills) Mid-table is just perfect?
ã„´
King Leoor) Excellent!
(H: A mid-table team typically finishes in the
lower half of the league standings. I was thinking Grills already changed side.
If you going to betray your club, do it wisely hahahahaha.)
'That
absolutely cannot happen!'
How could he keep Grills as a Chae-U
fan?
Kaelin maintained a blank expression on the outside while
pondering inwardly.
No matter how high and mighty she was, in the
end, she was just another sports fan.
'I'll see if he changes his
mind.'
Unbeknownst to Grills, a test from Kaelin was set.
*****
'What
was that? This strange feeling?'
I looked around. Even looking
around, all I could see were trees.
I wondered if some beast was
hiding and watching me, but I couldn't find anything.
DizSpeed showed
no reaction either, so it must be my imagination.
'Let's see. How
well did it turn out?'
There's something more important than that.
The tripod I made based on StarlightPrincess's writing.
It's time to
check whether all the meat hung on that tripod has been smoked.
At
the fastest it takes 1-2 hours, at the longest about 10 hours for smoking to be
possible.
Since time was of the essence for me, I opted for a method
that raised the temperature a bit.
"Wow. Look at the color."
The
color was passable. Not only the distinct smoked color, but the smell was
fantastic.
I tore the meat in half to see if it had cooked all the
way through, and it was cooked to a golden-brown.
The inside also got
a passing grade, but the most important thing is the taste.
There's
still time until dinner, but one bite should be fine.
"Munch."
I
took a bite of the smoked tiger meat.
They say carnivores usually
have a gamey smell, but perhaps because it was smoked, I couldn't sense it at
all.
Or it could be that I'm just not a picky eater.
The
taste wasn't bad either. The meat was especially juicy and the texture was
excellent.
"Ugh...! Ptoo! Ptoo!"
But it was unbelievably
salty.
It couldn't be helped, since I had salt-cured it before
smoking.
‘Round Fluff won't be able to eat it.’
Raw meat
would be much better for Round Fluff.
I hung the finished smoked food
inside the cave.
The cave was on the cooler side, so inside was
better than outside.
'Cook the rest of the meat, too.'
There
was still plenty left to smoke. My hands and feet were busy today.
Before
I knew it, the sun had set and it was evening.
Dinner was the smoked
dish I had made today. Just one chunk would be enough.
"Round Fluff,
let's eat."
"Kyuu!"
When it was mealtime, Round Fluff’s
eyes sparkled as he approached.
Round Fluff wearing the children's
uniform was cute beyond imagination.
Just looking at him makes me
want to hug him tight. I think I understand why people dress their pets.
'DizSpeed,
well....'
DizSpeed clearly disliked it, so I took it off
immediately.
If I hadn't taken it off, wouldn't he torn it to shreds
with his claws?
Anyway, I was able to spend another fulfilling day
today.
Tomorrow, I would have to catch crabs for the dwarf, and
explore here and there.
'If I proceed little by little like this,
I'll find a clue, right?'
I drifted off to sleep with that tiny
glimmer of hope.
Completely unaware of what would happen the next
day.
